LRS Dreigend, Leuwenthaal 64-gun Ship of the Line

This is an old school ship of the line for the Republic of Leuwenthaal. Their navy is quite numerous, and eventually use for ships like this one could be found. It's ship-rigged and has a galeon prow, but this does not detract from its fighting ability.

The white lion on a green field is the traditional symbol of the Ruling Houses of the Republic.

The only downside is the comparatively large hull with fewer gunports than ships her size.

This is a Revell Spanish Galeon model whose masts and oars I have replaced with wooden items. It's a cool ship to assemble, paint and rig. I guess if the galeon prow is sawed off, it could make a veritable 18th century ship of the line - however, for my purposes, these small kitbashing works do suffice.

  1. Looks really cool. Have to say from an aesthetics perspective this ship takes the biscuit. I can see why the Republic of Leuwenthaal would use a ship like this even if other contemporaries are using more modern designs.

    1. Thank you very much Gowan! I find it the more interesting if not all navies use top of the line equipment.
